Your surgeon can estimate your cup size based on the size of the implant, but it will be impossible to determine your exact cup size until after the healing process. Where Is the Implant Placed?
The implants will be placed either under or above the pectoral muscles in your chest. Usually, if you get silicone implants, your doctor will recommend placing them under the muscle, but if you get saline implants, it's best to place them above the muscle. Other factors that affect where your doctor may recommend placing the implants include the health and amount of your natural breast tissue, family history of breast cancer and whether you need a breast lift or not.
How Long Is Recovery?
Breast augmentation is not a minimally invasive procedure, and you will need time to recover from surgery. You'll likely have bandages and drainage tubes to prevent infection or fluid buildup. The tubes need to be cleaned regularly to prevent blockage. You may need to wear a special surgical bra to protect your breasts during the healing process, and you may not be allowed to lift your arms above your head. Complications include breast pain, changes in sensation and infection. There will be scars, but they are small and hidden.
